Hello!
As promised you, I'm returning the results off my modem install. I have =
a bad notice and a good one.=20
The bad: The PCTel module doesn't work on my Toshiba Satellite 2400-S251.
The good: The slmdm-2.7.10 module works!!!! And without any forcing! (=
Yes! Yes!!! YEEESSS!!!!! ~8-) )
At this moment, I'm writing on my notebook, on Linux, and using the intern=
al modem. Thanks a LOT!!!=20
I'm putting my modem specs, if you want to publish on your modem compatibi=
lity base. I saw my modem was reported as "not working". Now, I'm sure =
it works.

I use a Mandrake 9.1, standard installation.=20
I installed the slmdm-2.7.10.tar.gz module, unzipped on a folder (slmdm-=
2.7.10) and did "make" .
After that, I did a "su" to give root, and did "make install-amr" . Vo=
il=E1! Instant-Modem! ;-)=20
I used Kppp for testing. =20
Thanks a lot for your help. The thing I like a lot on Linux is that s=
ense of helping thenselves. =20
Syndson Silva. =20
P.S.: Earlier, I tried with slmdm-2.7.14 (a more recent version?) and it=
not worked. Why does it happens? I thought that a greater version supe=
rsedes the lower, and it is not the case. Anyway, Thanks again! =20
