Hey hey!
Could we (us unfortunate owners of hp pavilions) use the dos support option
to get the modem to work under distro's such as WinLinux? Winlinux boots
from the HD, and appears to run on top of dos.
I'm using the HP 4440 (USA) with the Rockwell HCF modem.
Check out your system properties/modem properties - there is dos support.
just an idea (i have no clue if it would work - it didn't work for me)
