William,

It's useless my hacking away here as I don't have Fedora.  Could you possibly
modify the configure script so that the fragment does compile on Fedora.
I suspect that it only needs a #include "$kernel_inc/asm/atomic.h" before the
include of tty.h, but it might be more than that!

If you email me the results, I will build a new version which ought to work!
