Hi

I have installed Red Hat Linux Release 6.2 (Zoot)
Kernel 2.2.14-12 on an i686 - PIII 700

I want to configure TCP/IP account using Linux.

I used linuxconf 1.17 to configure my ppp as below

Config + Networking + Client Tasks + PPP/SLIP/PLIP <Enter>
gave a dialog box for the same . selected the Add button giving a dialog
box "Type of interface". Selected the PPP option and selected the =
Accept
button. Entered the different values for <i> Phone Number <ii> Modem =
Port
was already shown as /dev/ttyS0. <iii> User name <iv> Password

bash$ ifup 0
bash$ ifconfig -a

The above shows both my local interface along with the just configured
ppp0 interface

But i am unable to connect to my ISP.

The modem is an internal one.
Motorola SM56 PCI Speakerphone Modem -- Version 4.10 -- Copyright 1999

Any pointers will be very greatful

Thanx in advance
Hemant
