As far as I am aware at the moment your best chance of getting this modem to
work is to use
this corel module with kernel 2.2.16

ftp://ftp.corel.com/pub/linux/CorelLinux/dists/corellinux-1.2/corel/binary-i
386/utils/pctel-kernel-2.2.16-driver-cdl-v1.0_1.0.deb

Some people have reported sucess with this - though I couldn't get it to
work on my system.
