 It would help VERY MUCH if you would specify which modem you use (ISA,
PCI, USB, PCMCIA).

 In particular it would help, if your modem is PCI, to see the output of
commands    /sbin/lspci -v    and  /sbin/lspci -vv   , because the first
thing which your report shows is that there  seems to be no modem in your
machine of the kind supported by the drivers which you are trying to
install. (see WARNING ....)
