Hey, why don't you put me in your killfile too?
David's right, you know, you are really huffy. Maybe you should stop
"VOLUNTEERING" because it doesn't seem to agree with your personality.
Besides, I don't think anyone's going to shed any tears over you leaving the
list if you're constantly filling it with your "I'm so superior" attitude.
Look at it this way. If your "VOLUNTARY" help comes with the price of being
brow-beaten and talked down to by you, then it loses quite a bit of its
value, doesn't it?
Now, why don't you email me back and let me know how badly I'm
misunderstanding the situation about "VOLUNTEERS WHO CRAVE RESPECT" and we
can continue to waste the list's time, my time, David's time, and your time
(which, precious as you say it is, is mainly taken up (from what I can see)
with berating people who don't think like you). This is as bad a virus as
the real virus that's been afflicting this list.

Dear David,
Your message is typical of what would immediately convince me to
withdraw from this list and stop contribute to those whom I thank daily in
my mind for having taught me how to use my winmodem under Linux.
But then I think about them again, and prefer to simply enter you on my
"kill" file (done, automatically sending any further mail from you to
/dev/null of course, not adding you to the list of people whom I plan to
murder)
It seems that you have not yet understood what voluntary help means.
Otherwise you may have refrained from criticizing a signature intended for
people with whom I do my real work, a large team running accelerators
round the year round the clock, who need to know if I am in the lab in
Switzerland or in my University in Israel, and how to reach me at any time
when something goes wrong.
Perhaps one day you will understand, and start giving in addition to
receiving.
