Just wondered what filesystem this is on? If its vfat (rather than ext2 =
the default linux filesystem (at the moment at least)) then you wont be a=
ble to make a hard link but *i think* you could make a soft link instead.

HTH

Subject: Fwd: Re: help with pctel

i'm always logged as root=20
tried again and keep getting the same
so i compiled pctel-2.4.7 and everything went fine
then insmod the modules and creates the nodes
but when i tried to dial out my modem only hang up and
then do nothing, i used kppp.
in the faq says that sometimes unloading/reloading the
modules work and did it like 20 times, then reboot and
keep trying but didnt work

what's wrong?
it's something that i did or the drivers?

-width this i made the nodes-
rm -f /dev/ttyS15 /dev/modem > /dev/null; \
mknod /dev/ttyS15 c 62 79 &&
chgrp uucp /dev/ttyS15 &&
chmod 666 /dev/ttyS15 &&
ln /dev/ttyS15 /dev/modem > /dev/null; \

#tail /var/log/messages=20
