The modem should detect and report RING in Linux as well as Windows.
There's a slim possibility that the two drivers have the half-wave /
full-wave rectified ring signal compiled differently. To play with this,
toggle homologation parameter 0x32 between 0 (half wave) and 1 (full wave).
AT%T22,32 displays the current value
AT%T22,32,0 sets it for half wave
AT%T22,32,1 sets it for full wave
Dial the modem line with the port open, and see if it makes a difference.
The value will reset to default each time you open the modem port. There's
a way to save the homologation parameters in the Windows registry, but
Linux doesn't have that.
