Hi,

I'm trying to get my Lucent modem to work with Linux, but not having much
luck.

I've tired the ltmodem-6.00b8 files (and some other older versions) on RH
7.0 and 6.2. I've also tryed the rpm's provided Randal H. Oliviera, but I
always have the same problem.

First of all scanPCI tells me that my modem is ''probably'' supported. It
allso apears to work I get a dialtone and I'm able to go on and off line as
I like. How ever, when I log out (using either KDE or GNOME, I've tried
both) my screen turns black and I get no response what so ever. Once or
twice it has happened that upon log out I got a stack dump reporting kernel
panic somewhere (I think it said ''Aii, kernel panic: attemted to kill the
idel task'' but I'm unable to reproduce this message).

So please help, relaing on Windows for internet access isn't much fun ;o)
