When using the linmodem kit,
I am stuck with kernel header problems in Mandrake 8.1
I have tested good on everything in the prerequisites test up 'til the =
kernal headers.
I did "ln -s /usr/include/linux /usr/src/linux
An ls of /usr/include/linux or /usr/src/linux gives me a bunch of .h =
files in both directories.
When I did the test in "Prerequisites" with=20
"ls /usr/src/linux/include/linux"
I got a "No such file or directory" error
When I run ./build_module I get:
Checking for kernel headers
... in /usr/src/linux: nope
... in /usr/src/kernel-headers-2.4.8-26mdk: nope
... in /usr/src/linux-2.4.8: nope
... in /usr/src/linux-2.4.8-26mdk: nope
ERROR: No kernel headers found.
If you have kernel headers installed but configure did not find them,=20
please try --with-kernel=3Ddir, otherwise please install the kernel =
headers=20
from your distribution.
Two other common problems are unreadable kernel sources (SuSE - build =
as root)=20
or unconfigured kernel sources (configure kernel sources and execute =
make dep=20
in the kernel source tree).
Why do I get this report when my ls shows /usr/src/linux full of .h =
files?
Thanks for the help.
Andy Gay
