Hi,

I have a Dell Latitude C400 with a Conexant (formerly
Rockwell) HSF softmodem hidden behind Intel's AC'97
codec. 
According to the following site:
http://www.cse.unsw.edu.au/~chak/linux/c400.html, this
is the same as 2304WT V.92 MDC modem from PCTel.

I've configured, built, and installed everything
flawlessly. Adding pctel.o and ptserial.o was also not
a problem. When I tried to dial using 'pon', nothing
happened. 
'plog' gives me this message:

Does anyone have any comment or advice? I'm running
Debian 3.0 Woody/Sarge with kernel 2.4.19.
