On re-reading your original post I see what the problem is.
You are trying to install drivers compiled for mandrake-2.4.18_6mdk
on a mandrake-2.4.18_8.1mdk kernel.
This will NOT work.
You must either find the drivers for the new kernel, or compile them your=
self.
I have found that it is EXTREMELY difficult to get win-modems to work whe=
re=20
the running kernel does not match the kernel originally installed.
Of course, you could always downgrade again!!
