I have had much more success compiling the drivers under Debian. You'll need
the kernel-headers, make, gcc, and binutils to do this. I'm running 2.2.20
kernel with an ltmodem under debian. I compiled with the 6.xx code. The
precompiled deb's only seem to work for me AFTER I have already compiled
from source. I think there is somthing missing in the deb's but I don't know
enough to say what is missing.
