Hello,

I downloaded pctel v0.9.4 from http://linmodems.technion.ac.il/pctel-linux/
to use my PCTel HSP MicroModem 56 under Linux RedHat 7.1 French (uname -r =>
2.4.2-2).
I compiled it (./configure --with-hal=pct789; make), installed it (make
install; insmod pctel; insmod ptserial), without any error.

When I want to use my modem (HSP56 MicroModem), this one can be initialised,
but do not reply to any command:
- kppp "Query Modem" test finds the modem on /dev/modem/ (which links to
/dev/ttyS15), and then shows a list of "AT" like commands with blank text
fields for the replies.
- minicom accept to initialise the modem, then accept that I enter commands
(ATZ, ATI3), but do not display any reply, nor any error.

The modem also 'opens' the phone line but do not do send anything to it.

My lspci output is:
00:0a.0 Communication controller: PCTel Inc HSP MicroModem 56 (rev 01)
My lspci -n output is:
00:0a.0 Class 0780: 134d:7890 (rev 01)

Can you help me to find what is wrong?

Thank you,

Sylvain
